Responsibilities.

• Preparing statutory and management accounts for clients
• Assisting with business development activities to attract new clients
• Liaising with other colleagues to ensure all client work is completed accurately, within budget and on time
• Work closely with clients to continuously develop their internal systems
• Ability to analytically review and analyse KPIs
• Training clients in use of their accounting systems whilst implementing best practice bookkeeping systems
• Carry out bespoke system projects agreed with the client
• Preparation of VAT returns
• Preparing information for client board meetings as well as some ad hoc projects
• A very strong emphasis is put on the advisory side of accountancy and you will be expected to provide value added advice to your clients on a regular basis

Required skills.

• Qualified or actively studying towards ACA, ACCA, FCA with practice experience working for a small to medium size UK based practice firm
• Must have good time management, organisational skills, interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with clients therefore needing a client focused attitude
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and flexible in approach
• Experience in a range of software packages, in particular cloud accounting packages such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage 50
• Maintain high professional standards of conduct and practice
• Understand need for continuous learning and development
