Accounts Assistant

Salary: £30000 - £32000

Location: Washington

KCR Solutions are delighted to be partnering with an excellent manufacturing client in Washington to recruit an Accounts Assistant. The successful will ensure all ledger transactions are posted accurately and on time, maintaining well-controlled and reconciled purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank transactions, and general ledger balances. The role initially focuses on purchase ledger but includes wider support across the finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Match invoices to purchase orders and goods received notes, ensuring correct pricing, quantities and approvals.
  • Communicate with suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment queries.
  • Process supplier payments (cheques, BACS, electronic transfers) in line with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records, including scanning, filing and archiving for audit readiness.
  • Support preparation of supplier statements, ageing reports and other AP analysis.
  • Reconcile employee expense claims and company credit card statements, ensuring correct documentation and compliance with policies.
  • Enter financial data accurately into the accounting system.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the provision of information for internal and external audits.
  • Provide cover for the Credit Control function.
  • Assist the UK Financial Controller and Overseas Accountant with postings, reconciliations, and ad-hoc queries.
  • Support the finance team with month-end, year-end and other reporting tasks as required.
