Assistant Management Accountant

Salary: £33000 - £38000

KCR Solutions are assisting this well-established manufacturing business based in Washington, in their search for an ambitious and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to further develop their management accounting skills within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working closely with the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, operational analysis and supporting business performance.

The Role

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Producing variance analysis and investigating any significant movements against budget and forecast.
  • Providing margin analysis to support profitability and operational decision-making.
  • Maintaining and reporting on key business KPIs.
  • Supporting product costing and cost analysis activities.
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Preparing accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Analysing production and operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Supporting month-end close activities and ensuring reporting deadlines are achieved.
  • Assisting with cash flow reporting as required.
  • Providing financial support to operational stakeholders across the business.
  • Supporting transactional finance duties when required, with a particular focus on Accounts Payable.

About You

  • Previous experience in an Assistant Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of management accounts processes.
  • Experience of variance analysis, margin reporting and KPI production.
  • Exposure to costing and stock-related accounting.
  • Good Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of data.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
  • AAT qualified or actively studying ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
