Finance Manager

Salary: £30000 - £33000

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to work for an excellent charity in Newcastle.   Reporting to the FD, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of all financial matters.  Your duties will be as follows:

  • Preparation of year-end accounts for all companies and liaising with the auditors
  • Preparing management accounts, balance sheets and cashflows for the Executive and the Board
  • Ensuring compliance with all fiscal reporting for Charity Commission/Companies House/HMRC
  • Ensuring that VAT, Gift Aid, taxation and PAYE returns are completed accurately and on time
  • Maintaining the company’s asset register and managing depreciation
  • Preparing financial systems and procedures for approval by the Directors
  • Ensuring that all financial operations are conducted appropriately
  • Ensuring compliance with pensions legislation, including auto-enrolment
  • Supporting the Finance Director and budget holders with accurate financial information
  • Preparing contra accounts, and all financial aspects of contracts, leases and other agreements
  • Acting as an authorised signatory and processing BACS transfers as required
  • Preparation of financial information for budget holders to support monitoring of budgets
  • Preparing financial information for funding applications and monitoring against budget
  • Developing and monitoring systems for reporting and forecasting different income streams
  • Overseeing the preparation, posting and reconciling of payroll journals for payrolls

You will be qualified AAT or part qualified ACCA/CIMA or ACA with a desire to progress through professional training.  You will have a minimum of three years’ experience working at management accountant or finance officer/supervisor level.  Experience of using Sage 200 or similar will be advantageous.  Charity experience would be ideal.
